This is a fun, savory take on the classic “Ants on a Log.” These cheesy celery sticks are a perfect appetizer or after-school snack, sure to delight both kids and adults.
Ingredients
- 4-6 celery stalks
- 1/2 cup cream cheese or cheese spread (like a garlic and herb cream cheese)
- 2-3 sticks of string cheese, or a handful of small cheese cubes
Tools
- Knife
- Spoon
Instructions
- Prepare the celery. Wash the celery stalks thoroughly and pat them dry. Trim off the ends and cut the stalks into 3-4 inch long pieces.
- Fill the ‘log’. Use a spoon or a knife to fill the hollowed-out curve of each celery piece with cream cheese or your chosen cheese spread.
- Add the ‘worms’. Carefully pull apart the string cheese sticks into long, thin strips, or use a few small cheese cubes. Arrange the cheese strips or cubes on top of the cream cheese in each celery piece to look like worms.
- Serve. Arrange the “Cheesy ‘Worms’ on a Log” on a platter and serve immediately.
