A sweet and simple treat that lets kids get creative with their decorating.
Ingredients:
- Large marshmallows
- Lollipop sticks or pretzel rods
- Green candy melts or white chocolate melts with green food coloring
- Mini chocolate chips
- Sprinkles or other small candies for decoration
Instructions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Have your kids help you push a lollipop stick or pretzel rod into the bottom of each marshmallow.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts (or white chocolate with green food coloring) according to the package directions.
- With a parent’s help, dip each marshmallow into the melted candy, covering it completely. Let the excess drip off.
- Lay the dipped marshmallows on the prepared baking sheet.
- Before the candy sets, let your kids press on mini chocolate chips for the “hair” and “bolts” and add two more for the “eyes.” A sprinkle of sprinkles can be fun, too!
- Allow them to set completely, about 15-20 minutes in the refrigerator.
Kid’s Corner:
- Sticking: Pushing the sticks into the marshmallows is a simple task they can do.
- Dipping: With a parent’s help, they can dip the marshmallows into the melted chocolate.
- Decorating: This is where their creativity shines! Let them place the “hair,” “eyes,” and “bolts” on their Frankenstein creations.
