This no-bake recipe is a perfect party snack and a great way to let kids practice their decorating skills.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8-ounce) block of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • A small plastic baggie or a piping bag
  • Optional: a plastic spider toy for a spooky centerpiece

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, have your kids mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and salsa until well combined.
  2. Spread the mixture onto a plate to form a flat circle.
  3. Fill a small plastic baggie with the sour cream and snip a tiny corner off the bag.
  4. Help your kids pipe a spiral of sour cream, starting from the center of the cheese mixture and working their way to the outside.
  5. Using a toothpick, have them drag lines from the center of the spiral to the outside edge to create the spiderweb effect.
  6. Serve with crackers or chips and place a plastic spider in the center for a fun touch.

Kid’s Corner:

  • Mixing: They can help mix the dip ingredients.
  • Spreading: Let them spread the dip mixture on the plate.
  • Decorating: This is the best part! They can draw the spiral and create the spiderweb lines with a parent’s guidance.
